The Dark Side Of The Moon Pink Floyd 180Gr Vinyl 2016 Remaster is a remastered album but has all the qualities of the original album back in 1973. It is a thicker more stable album physically but it is also cleaner in sound which in some areas is amazing but does it take away from the 70s feel where the album had a seemingly more poignant connection? I’m not quite sure.

The Sound
The sound is cleaner and more enhanced but still warm and rich with that strong and immersive tone.
Socio-Political Tones
Pink Floyd Has always told wonderful stories in the music and pointed out society in areas and this album does it in the same guided way but different in ways from the other Albums they made. It really talks to people, makes them feel and idealize life or make change. It is political in ways and socio-suppressed in others but it fits into life right now pretty well. It even was talking about things like mental health way before they were popular.
The Audiophile
There are better recordings of this album than this is one on which you will hear the difference but they are not remastered. For example Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has a release of this that you may be able to get second hand as it came out in 1981. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab is a top Vinyl reproducer that gives vinyl’s the feel they need. This would be an album that should be better on an Audiophile recording even though it is old.
The Album Cover
One of the most recognizable album covers ever in the world and if you do not like the album or unsure of the music buy it for the cover. The Vinyl Slip Cover is what music should look like.
The Tracks Have Something Unique
This Album has seamless transitions between tracks which is weird and amazing to add a more mesmerizing listen on vinyl. It is so integrated sometimes you miss the change which adds to the the immersive experience with its dynamic range of the vinyl. The production quality of this album shines through above most lps as it is more clear in the analog format of the vinyl. This is a unique album.
The Album Collection
This is a album most collectors have in their collection as it is a must and it is so much better than any other recording of this album except for the one I mentioned. If you do not have it go and get it. This is a timeless piece of music with brilliant words, great music, awesome instruments and a story of music worth listening to and for understanding music, vinyl and how vinyl’s work and build into how you live. It is a Musical Genius album that anyone can listen to and understand and then listen to again to get something more.
