Paddington In Peru 4K Stream On Amazon Prime

The Movie
Paddington In Peru is the 3rd sequel in the series. It is cute, emotive and has a cool story that both adults and children will like. It continues well from the other two films and they may have a few more films left in the series as they do fill a certain childhood gap as much in adults as it does in children.

Is This A Classic?
It has classic elements of great story telling in it but it is not like the first movie which we approached with no ideas or expectations. This is a continuation using what had been done in the original and changing the tone and environment. Don’t get me wrong, Paddington Bear is cute and well done and the newer CGI shows it off really well but it is not too much of a change to grant it classic status.

Not Too Much Of A Change
This movie had to stay on track as a continuation so you grow with them and love them. So change is hard. They have done well especially going to Peru and from what I have heard it was actually shot in Peru and Columbia. It has that amazing reality feel yet still being a kids movie with beautifully overacted characters and just nice ‘enjoyability’.

Did I Expect More?
This movie was not a movie that I expect would change the idea of movie making but it hits all the right notes and it is nice and seeing nice movies that effect all is really special and becoming rarer. So on that note, the movie Paddington in Peru did the job I wanted it to do and I hope it does the same for you.

Tech

The 4K Result
For a streamed mvie in UHD it was nice and the colours are fibrant and most of the times nicely sharp to fit with the mood and not being overy sharp like a Michael Bay Film where you want to see more. It is natural feeling but keeping the fun in the scene and the sharpness.

Some CGI does really show up as a little under par and abit childish but it can be forgiven for this sort of movie as It is not ultimately terrible CGI but it seems to add a cartoon feel at some points of time. Water and river has always been complex in CGI. On the other hand some of the locations look the ultimate.

The Sound
The movie has some interesting sound. From the Amazon River to the train station they have this fantastic placement of interesting sounds that you can hear but yet never takes away from the voices and it add a dynamics that makes you feel a bit between a movie world and a real world. It is a nice feeling

The Movie Is For Everyone
This movie has some clever cover ups from choreography to editing to scripting so that Paddington feels real and looks real in a cinematic way.

From this very serious section of how they work the movie they have come up with a lovely, silly, happy film. This sounds like a put down but it is harder to do nice films than scary films or shock films as usually more thought and technique is used to make someone happy or liked than just to get scares.

This movie has a cast of serious and quality acting people and then they bring out this wonderful journey of culture and story that you enjoy being a part of. It is also nicely still Paddinton Bear feel like in the books. It is a learning experience.

Would This Be Better On 4K Blu-Ray Disc
I would like to see the disc as the other two movies on 4k disc are pretty good but this now has the Peru section which would bring in some more definition and it may enhance more of the ambients sounds. For the whole idea I think it would be pretty good. It also has Dolby Vision which may add something more dynamic.
