There are a ton of popular TV series and films on Netflix. Because it offers an absurd quantity of series and films that keep viewers enthralled and unable to put them down, streaming services continue to rule the industry. Netflix is particularly well-known in the animation field; Pinocchio, directed by Guillermo del Toro, just won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

Netflix’s well designed landing page belies more than first glance. The streamer offers a new animated classic that fans may be waiting for. Netflix features a number of underappreciated animated films and television series that are deserving of greater love and attention.

10 “Dragon Age: Atonement” (2022–)

Dragon Age: Absolution is a six-episode miniseries set in the setting of BioWare’s popular Dragon Age franchise. The story revolves on a diverse bunch of robbers who, at Cassandra Pentaghast’s request, break into the Tevinter Imperium in order to retrieve a mystery relic. But when a traitor undermines the organization from inside, things go bad.

Absolution is still an exciting journey even if it could be difficult for non-fans of the series to understand the plot since Dragon Age has one of the most complex mythologies in the game industry. Absolution is a deserving return to the interesting world of Thedas, complete with exquisite animation, thrilling action scenes, and a gifted voice cast.

9 “The House” (2020)

The House is an underappreciated animated stop-motion film with an all-star ensemble that includes Will Sharpe, Miranda Richardson, Matthew Goode, Mia Goth, and Helena Bonham Carter. The movie is an anthology that tells three tales set in the same home but with individuals from various worlds.

The House is a masterful exhibition of the fine and delicate, but sadly underappreciated, craft of stop-motion animation. Aside from being enjoyable and fascinating, The House is extremely unique and unusual, with bright, colorful characters and a surprisingly deep plot.

8 “The Dragon Prince” (2018–)

It may be a lie to refer to a television program that has four seasons and three more in the works as “underrated.” The Dragon Prince is not, however, quite the popular success that it ought to be. The show’s expansive story revolves on three individuals rearing a dragon prince in the midst of a perilous conflict between magical and human forces.

One of Netflix’s greatest original programs is The Dragon Prince, which has a compelling story and exquisite animation. The show has broadcast four seasons so far, building on its narrative and honoring its dedication to diversity by showcasing a wide range of people from various backgrounds.

7 “I Love You If Anything Happens” (2020)

If Anything Happens I Love You is an animated short that is both worthwhile and heartbreaking. The narrative centers on two bereaved parents who are trying to come to terms with and accept the death of their daughter in a school shooting.

Every fan’s heart will be broken by the heartbreaking representation of bereavement in If Anything Happens I Love You. It is, nonetheless, also a satisfying and ultimately heartwarming tale about the bonds that unite people and the solace they may find in one another under the most trying circumstances. Another incentive for viewers to see If Anything Happens is because it won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 2021.

6 “Internal Job” (2021–2022)

Christian Slater and Lizzy Caplan are the main voices in the animated comedy Inside Job. The program follows the lives of a software prodigy and her new partner as they work for a strong organization that governs the globe, set in a world where conspiracy theories are true. The episode includes a number of conspiracy theories, such as those about the moon landing and JFK’s assassination.

Thanks to its lively voice cast and brilliant scripting, Inside Job is a humorous, sardonic, and lively film. Inside Job was canceled early this year by Netflix, despite the show’s original renewal for a second season. Fans should still give it a go, however, particularly if they like weird comedy.

5 “The Dragon of My Father” (2022)

My Father’s Dragon has an outstanding ensemble cast, led by Gaten Matarazzo and Jacob Tremblay. In the narrative, a small child named Elmer Elevator sets out to better his mother’s financial circumstances by going to a distant island to save a juvenile dragon named Boris.

Fans will find My Father’s Dragon to be a charming, emotional journey, particularly considering its brief 99-minute runtime and positive message. Even though it leans somewhat younger, fans of all ages will be enthralled with the show because to its vibrant animation and stellar ensemble.

4 “Trese”

Dota: Dragon’s Blood, which debuted in 2021, is one of Netflix’s most subtly reliable series. The protagonist of the fantasy series is a warrior named Davion who battles dragons to save mankind. Davion unites his soul with a dragon in the midst of a raging demon fight to prevent the demon Terroblade from eradicating the draconic race.

With the release of three seasons, fans of Dota: Dragon’s Blood have a plenty of content to watch. It’s not essential to know anything about the 2013 video game Dota 2, since the series creates a distinct narrative that viewers can easily become engrossed in even if they haven’t played the fantasy game before.

2 “Nightmare of the Wolf: The Witcher” (2021)

Vesemir’s past is revealed in 2021’s The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, which acts as a preface to Henry Cavill’s The Witcher. In the movie, the witcher is a youthful, conceited guy who stumbles onto a risky plot that has the potential to permanently alter the Continent.

At first glance, Nightmare of the Wolf seems to be a brazen extension of the Witcher franchise, providing viewers with further information about Vesemir and the Witcher order. The movie goes surprisingly deep, however, disclosing much about the folklore of the Continent and the social problems that beset it. Nightmare of the Wolf has a lot to offer fans of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, from its rich animation to its voice cast and underlying themes.

1. “Zeus’ Blood” (2020)
